The V&A and Duffy Archive are delighted to present an exclusive new print pairing two 1973 session photographs for Aladdin Sane. Featuring the classic album cover-shot and an unpublished outtake from the original photo-shoot: the striking 'eyes open' image.

This print has been created exclusively for the V&A Shop and will only be available during the exhibition.

This commemorative edition celebrates the V&A exhibition David Bowie is and marks the 40th anniversary of the release of David Bowie's Aladdin Sane album.

Influenced by contemporary performance art and theatrical traditions, David Bowie was drawn to create dramatic, fictionalised stage personas. His sixth studio album marked the birth of the character Aladdin Sane. Bowie collaborated with photographer Brian Duffy and make-up artist Pierre Laroche on the album cover. The result is one of the most recognisable images in popular culture.

Each print is carefully prepared and packed in a sturdy tube to ensure safe and secure delivery. These prints are very delicate and extra care should be taken when you receive your delivery. They are very difficult to re-pack once opened and we cannot accept returns unless received in perfect condition.
