        Intricate hand-cut wall relief sculpture consisting of two layers, from artist Chisato Tambayashi.

        Limited edition of 10. Sculpture measures 332mm x 297mm x 22mm. Boxed.

        Chisato Tamabayashi studied at the Royal College of Art graduating in 2005. Much of her work explores the form and potential of paper by means of paper engineering and cutting with a scalpel. To her, the process of cutting, folding and forming paper is a kind of meditation.

        Tamabayashi's work often engages with traditions of Japanese aesthetics, a continuing source of inspiration creating an opportunity to explore her nationality and heritage. Her work has been exhibited in the UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Japan and is in the collections of the Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery as well as the TATE library artists' book collection.
