The ambition for this portrait was to portray David Bowie not as Ziggy Stardust but in the less documented Berlin era. Gregory's drawing of Bowie is reduced to the bare minimum, bringing out his characteristic eyes and expressing a sense of elegance. Gregory's portrait work often plays with the idea of image recognition and the necessity of commercial and media-related images and the necessity of fast-reading. He tests these rules, reducing portraits to the essential elements needed for recognition to create his striking and contemporary portraiture.

Gregory Gilbert-Lodge is an award winning illustrator living and working in Zurich. He has many commercial clients and over the past 20 years has also contributed to countless publications including: Dazed & Confused, Another Man, The Face, Sleazenation and Das Magazin. He is a member of Silex, a group of illustrators that formed at Biel Art School.

Each print is carefully prepared and packed in a sturdy tube to ensure safe and secure delivery. These prints are very delicate and extra care should be taken when you receive your delivery. They are very difficult to re-pack once opened and we cannot accept returns unless received in perfect condition.
