'Bracelet With 90 Degree Angle' by Gijs Bakker (Limited Edition)
EXCLUSIVE TO THE V&A SHOP
This special edition bracelet is the creation of Gijs Bakker whose conceptual fashion features in the ‘Cold War Modern: Design 1945-1970’ exhibition. 'Bracelet with 90 Degree Angle' comes from Bakker's 1969 collection and has been re-released to the V&A Shop in a limited number of five. Made from titanium (the original, pictured here, is maade from aluminium). Measures 103mm(h) x 85mm(w) with 9mm diameter.
Designer Gijs Bakker (Amersfoort, 1942) was trained as a jewellery and an industrial designer at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and the Konstfack Skolen in Stockholm, Sweden. Bakker's designs cover the areas of jewellery, interior design and public spaces amongst others. He continues to work with many exciting companies including, Polaroid, Artifort, HEMA, Van Kempen & Begeer, and recently for ENO Studio in France. For 40 years Bakker has also been very involved with design from an academic perspective, teaching at a number of universities including the Delf University of Technology and the Design Academy Eindhoven.
