Strawberry Thief Tray (Rectangular)
This charming tray featuring birds, strawberries and flowers, recreates one of William Morris's best-known designs in the Arts & Crafts period entitled 'Strawberry Thief' (designed Britain,1883 © Victoria and Albert Museum V&A: T.586-1919). Despite the fact that the original 1883 design was one of Morris & Co's most expensive printed furnishings, it became a firm favourite with clients. He took the idea from the thrushes which frequently stole the strawberries in the kitchen garden of this countryside home, Kelmscott Manor, in Oxfordshire.

About the designer
